Frederick Douglass Google Doodle


Frederick Douglass (February 1818 to February 20, 1895).He was an American social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman.

Frederick Douglass was the son of an enslaved woman and an unknown white father. 

Douglass published two autobiographies in his life.

Douglass Was the First African American Nominated for Vice President of the United States.

Today's (30 January, 2016) Google Doodle honors Amrita Sher-Gil on her 103rd Birthday.Amrita Sher-Gil was an eminent Indian painter born to a Punjabi Sikh father and a Hungarian Jewish mother, sometimes known as India's Frida Kahlo, and today considered an important woman painter of 20th century in India.

Beatrice Tinsley Google Doodle. 75th Birthday New Zealand Astronomer

The Search Engine Google is showing a Doodle for the 75th Birthday of Beatrice Tinsley, in few countries.
Beatrice Tinsley was a British born - New Zealand astronomer and cosmologist whose research made fundamental contributions to the astronomical understanding of how galaxies evolve with time.
Tinsley completed pioneering theoretical studies of how populations of stars age and affect the observable qualities of galaxies.
 She also collaborated on basic research into models investigating whether the universe is closed or open. Her galaxy models led to the first approximation of what protogalaxies should look like.She died at the young age of 40.

Wilbur Lincoln Scoville (January 22, 1865 – March 10, 1942)
  • January 22, 2016 Google celebrate  Wilbur Scoville’s 151st Birthday with interesting animated doodle.
  • Wilbur Lincoln Scoville was an American pharmacist best known for his creation of the "Scoville Organoleptic Test", now standardized as the Scoville scale.
  • He devised the test and scale in 1912 while working at the Parke-Davis pharmaceutical company to measure piquancy, or "hotness", of various chille peppers.

Charles Perrault Google Doodle. 388th Birthday of French Fairy Tales Author

The Search Engine Google is showing a Doodle for the 388th Birthday of Charles Perrault. The man who invented the modern fairytale has been chosen by google to be celebrated in the Jan 12 Doodle.The Doodle image is getting changed whenever refreshing the Google Home page. It seems it is showing 3 different versions of Doodle images randomly.

Charles Perrault was a French author. Perrault was born in Paris as the seventh child. Perrault is best known for his Mother Goose fairy stories.He laid the foundations for a new literary genre, the fairy tale, with his works derived from pre-existing folk tales.Charles Perrault began his life as a lawyer and tax collector.Watch this video below
